Your Path to Family Harmony

Our Unique Methodology

Guided Family Conversations addresses the complexities of family conflicts first from a foundational level and then working up. Although non-traditional by certain standards the approach is rooted in empathy, honorable intention and a true desire to see families be successful.

Since we never “have a horse in your race” we’re able to observe nuances that family members too close to the situation fail to recognize.

Observations like these allow us to probe areas which may seem unrelated to the issue at hand, but are actually deeply connected to the source of the conflict.

Through active listening, structured dialogue, and a competency called “Polarity Intelligence” we are able to ensure that each family member feel heard, valued, and understood.

“Polarities”  such as candor and diplomacy, exist all around us each day and, once recognized, they can be leveraged to achieve some seriously good outcomes.

If you are looking for a facilitator that follows a clinical, structured approach with a lot of rules, we may not be a good fit. There are times when the need arises to respectfully challenge participants in instances of inconsistency or unfairness. These are always handled in a gentle, non-confrontational manner but without them being addressed forward progress cannot occur.

Our mission is to transform conflict into opportunity for growth and healing. We believe that through guided conversations, families can overcome their differences and build stronger, more harmonious relationships.

Your Questions Answered

What is the main goal of your facilitation process?

Our primary goal is always to help the families we serve to accomplish theirs. To do this requires us to listen empathically, do our best to understand exactly what the collective goal of the family is, and do our best to help you achieve it.

How do you construct a dependable platform for dialogue?

Establishing the ground rules that everyone can agree to and abide by is required. No matter how far we must travel back to find this common ground, it must be done. If one participant is left out of the buy in, our efforts will fail. Once this point is established, elements like perspective, accountability, consistency and logic can be employed in our mutual effort toward peace and resolution.

What types of conflicts do you handle?

Honestly, conflict about any contentious issue can be positively addressed as long as all of the participants are willing to bring honesty, reason, consistency and self awareness to the conversation.

How long does a typical session last?

Sessions typically last between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the complexity of the issues being addressed. You should also know that it often takes several sessions to reach resolution as information and experiences resulting from a previous session takes time to sink in and ultimately change a participant’s perspective.

Can you provide services remotely?

Yes, we use Zoom regularly and are able to offer virtual facilitation sessions to accommodate families who are unable to meet in person.
